The Best Minecraft Mods of 2011
The Best Minecraft Mods of 2011
A quick review and showcase of some of the best minecraft mods of 2011
Since minecraft came out it has been some what of a contest between modders to see who could create the best minecraft mods. And let me tell you, some of the mods are down right amazing. Some of the mods that I will be showcasing today add whole new levels of gameplay to minecraft. Some are almost games within themselfs.
I would like to take a chance to thank the entire minecraft community for supporting such a wonderful game, Notch for really pulling this game together into something wonderful, and all the mod creators out there for adding so much more! So with out futher ado I present my list of the best minecraft mods of 2011!
Please note I have placed these mods in no particular order, this is simply a list of some of mods that I think are the best.
Some of the best Minecraft Mods of 2011
1. Invasion (Mod)
Ok so this mod is really cool. The goal is to build a nexus and protect it against waves on incoming mobs. Kinda like a towerdefense game of sorts, as the waves progress more and more mobs are spawned. There are a ton of custom mobs as well, leading to all sorts of intense fighting. Bring a team guys this get stiff!
2. Equivalent Exchange
If you’ve ever watched full metal alchemist then you should already have an idea of whats about to go down. The Equivalent Exchange mod adds what you could call alchemy to the game. Based on the idea that for a price you can speed up your minecraft adventure. Some of the items that you can obtain with this mod are TONS of fun, and should keep you entertained for hours at the very least.
3. Mo’Creatures Mod
If you have minecraft and haven’t played with mod yet then you have issues, seriously guys. This mod adds a bunch of new creatures to play with, everything from MantaRays to Scorpions. That’s just for starters, you can even feed the birds if your into that sort of thing. I should also mention that not everything added really likes humans…or block people, just sayin.
4. Pam’s Mods
Holy….so many mods. This is an huge collection…but the one that I really like is the food mod. I’m not a farmer but in minecraft I might as well be. This mods adds lots of new seeds and things to grow, it also makes sure hungry minecrafters get fed promptly and on time. ^.^
5. Aether Mod
This is probly one of the most expansive mods that currently exists for minecraft. Like the Nether the Aether adds a whole new world to minecraft, including new creatures, blocks, and items. Whats more surprising is that this is a mod. As a mod it does an amazing job of adding new levels and content. The Aether mod is more like a separate world rather than part of minecraft . This mod also adds bosses to the game, with each boss having its own element and ability’s. This mod is most definitely worth the install and play time.
6. SDK’s Gun Mod
Oh boy the last thing anyone in minecraft needed…..guys. SDK has added quite a few guns in this overly explosive mod, in fact so many that you can leave a trail of destruction across the world should you so choose. Even a RPG and flame-thrower have been placed in your hands. Couple this with a few other mods I’ve mentioned and you will have one heck of a party.
7. Build Craft
Ok this is really really cool. Build craft is just one of those must have mods, it allows you to make all sorts of cool things. I even had to boot up my client and play it myself. I would really suggest you give build craft a spin, you can even spice it up and install some other mods with it at the same time. One of the more interesting features of this mod is the ability to make quarrys, or huge mining zones. Really neat for digging to the center og the earth.
8. Industrialcraft Mod
This mod fits right in with the buildcraft mod, allowing you to make all sorts of cool bells and whistles. If you took the time to install the build mod I suggested then this one should be right on it heels. Adding hundreds of new combos and items. Your head should be spinning by this point. By this point I would imagine this game should be looking less and less like minecraft and more like something else.
9. Biosphere 1.0.0
So this really takes a turn from the mods I’ve been showing you. This is more of a fun mod to play with. What this mod does is randomly create spheres in the sky. Each one containing a different minecraft Bio, each one is connected with a walk way. So you can simply walk for sphere to sphere checking out different bio zones. Try giving this mod a legit play, you might really enjoy it.
10. Millénaire
Ah a long awaited NPC mod. This mod adds NPC towns to the game, and populates them with live NPCs that you can trade with! I would really suggest adding the gun mod with this…….might lead to some “fun”
Anyways those are in my opinion the best minecraft mods of 2011. If your a mod creater and wish to get your mod reviewed please email me using the contact form I’ve provided.
